EICAR Virus Test

1. Open Notepad.

2. Type the Following:

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

3. Save it as .com (any name will do like eicar.com ). As soon as you save it your AV will detect it as a virus. If it doesn't, open the file.

Don't worry it won't harm your computer. It is designed to test  your computer's antivirus. If your AV didn't detect it, change your AV program as soon as possible.
